The Two Faced Salieri :: essays research papers
ââ¬Å"Now a madness began in me. The madness of a man splitting in halfâ⬠. Even though this was uttered by Salieri, itââ¬â¢s our life! And yet we still donââ¬â¢t know whatââ¬â¢s in it. You might not notice, but everyone in this world has two sides, one dark and the other light. The quote above also has two sides. On one hand he was a noble court composer, on the other hand he was really evil and was filled up with jealousy. Did Salieri control his two different sides or did he believe in one side and invaded the other? In the following few paragraphs, I am going to prove to you how Salieri was a two faced person. Salieri was a noble, decent and a mature person. After his father died, God gave him what he needed and made him a court composer for the Emperor. He was simply a model of virtue for other people. ââ¬Å"I kept my hands off womanâ⬠. This was said by Salieri and this quote also proves that he was respectful and an honored person. ââ¬Å"Teaching students, many of them for free, sitting on endless committees to help poor musiciansâ⬠. This quote was also said by the court composer Salieri. This quote tells all of us that he was a really nice person and didnââ¬â¢t want anything in return because God gave him what he needed the most. ââ¬Å"Let me celebrate your glory through musicâ⬠. This shows us that he was very dedicated to his religion and to God. ââ¬Å"I was the most successful musician in Viennaâ⬠. Salieri was really happy when he knew he was the greatest composer of Vienna but when ever there is a good time for a person, there is also a bad. Salieriâ⠬â¢s evil side took over part of his good side and this all happened when he arrived. The most famous composer named Mozart. Salieri like everyone else also had a bad side. He was really jealous when Mozart took over his dreams. Mozart was also a composer and he became well known in Vienna through his music. When Salieri first saw Mozart he thought how can such a vulgar man create such great music. Salieri was really mad at God for making such a disgusting and a dirty minded person such a great composer.

Law describing and evaluating the roles of the courtroom work group Essay
A court room work group is a term referring to professionals that serve in the court on a daily basis. These professionals include a prosecutor, the criminal defence attorney and the judicial officer. The courtroom working group seeks to bring justice to all. It ensures that all parties are accorded due fairness and equal opportunity regardless of gender, race, age, religious affiliation nor any other factor. They also see to it that trials are completed successfully. The concept of court room working group is associated with plea bargaining. The courtroom working group has shown tremendous explanatory power in overburdened courts dealing with huge case loads. Describing and Evaluating Roles of Courtroom Work Group Professionals that serve in the court, each have a commitment to oversee a successful trial completion. Due to this commitment they must each follow a strict code of ethics and also they must adhere to the law and its practice. In most cases however, the number of judges and attorneys is limited hence there is a possibility that a personal as well as professional relation that may stem up. However this must not be prioritised by either of the parties involved and the pursuit of justice must always remain the order of the day. The changes I would recommend are rising of the bar when it comes to security measures. The reason why I suggest this is because sometimes violent criminal offenders may take advantage of the courtroom environment and cause havoc inside the court. For example in the past there was a reported case whereby an offender grabbed an officerââ¬â¢s pistol and started shooting randomly in the courtroom. Safety measures should be put in place in order to curb such bizarre scenarios in the future. The role of the prosecutor is to represent the rights of the citizens. This is assumed to be so because a crime is defined as an act or omission which constitutes an offence punishable by law. Hence, when an offender is presented in court, the charges levelled against him read, Republic or State vs defendant. Therefore the role of the prosecutor is to represent the peopleââ¬â¢s cases against the defendant. With that role comes great responsibility on him, in that the burden of proof automatically lies with him. Also he has to work hard to ensure that evidence is presented legally, and the state procedures are adhered to in a way that dismissal is avoided. Another role of the prosecutor is that he acts as a consultant and advisor to the police departments. He assists them in the course of investigations and also provides insight into the acquisition of evidence and the procedural element of it. A prosecutor usually decides which case to pursue based on the fact that whether they think they can prove beyond reasonable doubt that a defendant is guilty of an offense (Herrmann, Joachim, p. 468). They achieve this by firstly studying in a detailed manner the charges levelled against the defendant. Also he must examine the corresponding evidence presented which includes any testimonials or witnesses and any other material fact that may affect his case. After accomplishing this task he has a more insightful view of the case and is best able to make an informed decision. At this juncture he may decide to file the case or drop the charges and recommend lesser sentences for the defendants who agree to plead guilty to a certain crime: a process that is referred to as plea bargaining (Heumann, 1977). If the criterion for taking a case was more stringent, many cases would be dismissed due to lack of concrete evidence. This is because majority of the cases brought to the court have circumstantial evidence but with great eyewitness testimony. If the criterion was less stringent on the other hand, the court system would be overburdened with cases lacking sufficient evidence and support, hence resulting in less attention being accorded to cases that urgently require it. The criminal justice system has been defined as resembling a funnel that is, being wide at the top and being narrow at the bottom. This is interpreted to mean that there are more suspects and defendants in the justice system than there are convicted offenders who have successfully passed through the correctional system. The criminal justice system has a number of processes that an offender goes through, beginning with the investigation process and ending with the release of a convicted individual from a correctional facility. As criminals pass through the criminal justice system, quite a number of cases are dismissed due to a variety of reasons one being the lack of sufficient evidence. Discretion is another effect brought about by the criminal justice funnel. Many of the cases in the criminal justice system are investigated, tried or dismissed purely on the basis of personal choices. These choices are made by persons who use discretion to decide on individual cases. Also police officers may decide whether to conduct investigations on a case or to just go ahead and make an arrest of the suspect, again based on personal choice. Whereas on the other hand, attorneys and judges also interpret information to decide on the bail applications and plea bargains (Hermann Joachim, p. 468). Unreported cases is also another factor emerging form this system. A number of crimes go unreported for a variety of reasons and this allows the offenders of such crimes go off Scott free and mingle with other people in the society. This adds to the ever growing number of cases that do not make their way into the early stages and final stages of the criminal justice system. Case backlog means that the defendants have to wait longer in order to get a verdict on the case. It means t the defendant has to remain as a suspect for a prolonged period. Some of the offenders that are held in custody are there because simply the offenses they committed can not be granted bail and other offenders are there because they have been unable to post bail. This backlog also inhibits the justice process by helping offenders get away with their crimes. This is especially evident where case requires immediate analysis of evidence (Daly, 2011).

Me Versus the Bachelor Degree In Business 2019
Liberal arts majors and business majors are like oil and vinegar. They dont exactly blend well together, but for some reason when you combine the two they are absolutely fantastic. I learned this my final year of college when I moved into the sorority house and instantly bonded with my business major roommate, Jenny. I was an English major and the two of us were intermingled with several other girls with varying interests and educational pursuits. But for some reason, while Jenny and I were the most different, we ended up becoming almost the same. I was messy and artistic, Jenny was organized and, I hate to admit it, a little sterile. She liked things where she liked them and anything out of place was sure to trigger a conniption. She instantly made our bills into an Excel spreadsheet and wrote out invoices each month to each housemate for their share of the gas, water, andfrozen waffles? Down to our grocery shopping, she inventoried everything and left me awestruck and wondering, Who does things like that?! .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb:active, .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .ue07974ce2316b4c31673738ef1420cdb:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ Information Technology Services Helping You Meet The Bottom LineApparently a lot of people as I met many business majors during my college years. And for some uncanny reason, they were always the ones that I hit it off with the most. My quirkiness meshed together with their straight man personality. My creativity was enhanced by their organization, and while it seems as if our worlds would collide, they seldom did. There were a few times that we butted heads, when my dance team crashed the house and we kept the karaoke machine on a little too loud a little too late. Jenny would throw herself into a tirade about her 8 am accounting final and couldnt we PLEASE just keep it down a bit? (Answer: no, but we will pretend to try.) And there were times I left the half eaten bowl of macaroni on the stove top and Jenny found it before I remembered I had left it there. (Truth: it was usually about three days later.) But all in all, we became the best of friends. My carefree outlook softened her anal retentive views toward college and life. Her orderly conduct encouraged me to be more responsible with money and especially with sleep. I started to value going to class more, and learned that there was more to get out of college than just the degree. The funny thing is that in a different way, I taught her that as well. .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1 { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:#eaeaea; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #34495E!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -webkit-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); text-decoration:none; } .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1:active, .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; text-decoration:none; } .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1 { transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; } .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1 .ctaText { font-weight:bold; color:inherit; text-decoration:none; font-size: 16px; } .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1 .post Title { color:#000000; text-decoration: underline!important; font-size: 16px; } .u49b83d0ee98d99f7d06b441bd260d0f1:hover .postTitle { text-decoration: underline!important; } READ From IT School to an IT CareerI learned from rooming with Miss BA in Business that sometimes the people the most unlike us are the ones that we are destined to enjoy and cherish the most in life. Analysis of a Scene from Luhrmanns Production of Romeo...
Analysis of a Scene from Luhrmanns Production of Romeo and Juliet It seems interesting at first that Baz Luhrmann should choose to rework Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet into a modern movie. However, when you think about the aims of a modern film-maker such as wanting to really affect the audience and create a series of moving and powerful images shot through with dialogue, then it is less surprising that Romeo and Juliet was Luhrmanns choice. Shakespeares play is filled with emotion and suspense, so had limitless potential to be made into a great movie. Luhrmann adapted the play for the big screen very effectively, managing to portray the emotion of the film using visual storytelling techniquesâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦While it is still religious, it is quieter and while seeming more innocent and childlike, still has a spookiness to it due to the voices of what sound like young choir singers. Perhaps Luhrmann wanted to show how innocent Juliet was in the midst of this fight and by playing softer, more angelic music he feels he can portray th is. By making a link between the shots in the scene in that the music still sounds religious and not quite comfortable, he is showing that Juliet will be involved in the consequences of the actions of Romeo and Tybalt. On the other side of this quiet shot is the pounding sound of electronic music blasting out as Romeo speeds in his car towards Tybalt. This heightens the sense of the metallic crash as the cars crush into each other and the viewer knows to associate this loud music with something bad about to unravel. Luhrmann uses silences effectively in this scene and the most poignant one is when Romeo has just shot Tybalt and there is silence until we hear the chink of the metal gun hit the floor then further silence. Luhrmann is showing Romeo contemplate with disbelief and shock what he has just done and the viewer realises that that action is a turning point in the play as it is accentuated so much. The wind and music pick up as the rain breaks and as Romeo leaves the scene before there is another crescendo, there is a sense ofShow MoreRelatedRomeo And Juliet Essay1228 Words à |à 5 PagesAubrey Bryan. TEACHING CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN THE CLASSROOM 3 Teaching Critical-Thinking Skills in the Classroom When a person speaks of being ââ¬Å"criticalâ⬠today, it is often thought of as a negative thing. What many people donââ¬â¢t realize is that thinking critically is how we determine right from wrong, or something as simple as which fruit to purchase at the supermarket. We draw upon what we know and compare that to what is in order to make a decision. Students often lack critical-thinking skills and generally avoid having to do any ââ¬Å"hardâ⬠thinking. We, as teachers, must present them with opportunities to develop their critical-thinking skills, so that thinking critically will become second nature to each student. One of the primary goals of the concept attainment strategy of teaching is to improve studentsââ¬â¢ critical-thinking skills. The concept attainment strategy asks students to draw on prior knowledge to make hypotheses about given sets of data (Eggers, Kauchak, 1996, p. 160). ââ¬Å"The teacher tri es to get students to learn how to label, categorize, interpret data, explore relationships, identify critical relationships, make inferences, apply concepts, predict outcomes and explain reasoningâ⬠(ââ¬Å"Concept attainment model,â⬠2015). B) NORMALIZATION : The basic objective of normalization is to be reduce redundancy which means that information is to be stored only once. Storing information several times leads to wastage of storage space and increase in the total size of the data stored. If a Database is not properly designed it can gives rise to modification anomalies. Modification anomalies arise when data is added to, changed or deleted from a database table. Similarly, in traditional databases as well as improperly designed relational databases, data redundancy can be a problem. These can be eliminated by normalizing a database. Normalization is the process of breaking down a table into smaller tables. So that each table deals with a single theme. There are three different kinds of modifications of anomalies and formulated the first, second and third normal forms (3NF) is considered sufficient for most practical purposes. It should be considered only after a thorough analysis and complete understanding of its implications. 5. 2 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS If there is extensive damage to a wide portion of the database due to catastrophic failure, such as a disk crash, the recovery method restores a past copy of the database that was backed up to archival storage (typically tape) and reconstructs a more current state by reapplying or redoing the operations of committed transactions from the backed up log, up to the time of failure. 5. 3 SECURITY REQUIREMENTS Security systems need database storage just like many other applications. However, the special requirements of the security market mean that vendors must choose their database partner carefully. 5. 4 SOFTWARE QUALITY ATTRIBUTES ? AVAILABILTY: The flight should be available on the specified date and specified time as many customers are doing advance reservations. ? CORRECTNESS: The flight should reach start from correct start terminal and should reach correct destination. ? MAINTAINABILITY: The administrators and flight in chargers should maintain correct schedules of flights. ? USABILITY: The flight schedules should satisfy maximum number of customers needs. The Gift Outright Essay, Research Paper The Gift Outright In the verse form The Gift Outright, Robert Frost uses a historical subject to show the feelings of Americans long ago ; feelings of subjugation and despair which finally lead to rejoice and prevail. Frost connects with the many Americans today who besides have these feelings when reading the verse form. The rubric of the verse form is of import to look at in order to understand the verse form s significance. The gift was the forfeit that Americans made to give future Americans freedom every bit good as the ability to populate in a land where anything is possible. The term outright requires a individual to believe in footings of giving a gift wholeheartedly and without vacillation. Most Americans are unable to truly appreciate this construct. They did non have it because they were still under the control of England. When the Colonists finally cut themselves wholly off from England, they could experience like they were the land s people. In lines six and seven, different significances of the word possessed are used. In line six, Possessing what we still were unpossessed by, Frost refers to the settlers holding physical ownership of the land. Again, the land could non possess them because the settlers did non have the land. In order to more wholly grok what Frost is stating here, see the analogy of a householder versus a tenant and the house they live in. The tenant s house can neer truly feel possessed by its proprietor because he can easy travel out and break up ties to it. On the other manus, a householder usually has his bosom and sole invested in his house. Therefore non merely is the house possessed by the proprietor , but the proprietor is possessed by the house. In line seven Possessed by what we now no more possessed. , suggests that while the settlers were still possessed by England in footings of holding to follow England s regulations and pay revenue enhancements, the settlers no longer possessed England in their Black Marias and sole. They were like the tenant who is ready to travel on. Something we were keep backing made us weak / Until we found out that it was ourselves / We were keep backing from our land of life, / And forthwith found redemption in surrender. , says a batch. The idea that a individual needs to happen the strength within to give up sounds like an oxymoron. Normally the idea of give uping makes a individual think of being weak. However, it took a great trade of strength for the settlers to give up to what was in their Black Marias. The settlers realized that plighting commitment to England merely weakened their ability to go one with the land. Triumph and glorification was theirs, one time they gave up their dependance on England. Such as we were we gave ourselves outright ( The title of gift was many workss of war ) To the land mistily recognizing due west, But still unstoried, ingenuous, unenhanced, Such as she was, such as she would go. The concluding lines of the verse form are inspirational to many Americans because they point out the fact that the settlers did so give the gift outright. They gave of themselves wholeheartedly, without vacillation, and without sorrow. Many forfeits were made in war every bit good as during the great migration West. The settlers had no thought what was before them they merely believed in their Black Marias that it would be good The enlargement of America gave the settlers the chance to make their ain narratives and develop their ain civilization. They could look back at what America was and look frontward to what America would go.
